Relines
Relining replaces the fitting surface of the denture, like re-treading a car tyre.
Dentures that fit well during the first few years will not necessarily fit due to changes in the mouth, such as medication, weight loss, age; and may require relines.
When dentures no longer fit well, the correct action is to seek follow-up care.
Adhesives may compensate for gradual loosening of a denture, but it is only a temporary solution; it does not solve the problem.
Relines should only be done once or twice due to anatomical changes but it is advised for the whole denture be replaced every 7 years.
