COVID-19 Important Update Message – 23 March 2020
The impacts of Coronavirus are unprecedented and continue to evolve daily. We want you to know the health and safety for all is paramount in our response.
Most likely many of your families, friends and patients are involved in helping our country fight this dangerous virus, whether it be on the frontline of medicine or packing supermarket shelves. We thank you personally for your tireless work at this critical time.
Our Government has asked to pull together to keep each other protected and supported, which we are determined to do. At Totally Smiles, the health and wellbeing of our dentists, staff, patients and the community is our top priority and we are doing everything we can to support our people. To date, we have had no reported patients, dentists or employees that has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
We are here to help
We are writing to you to advise that upon advice from the Australian Dental Association (ADA) dentistry is deemed a necessary service to our communities. Therefore, our practices will remain open, but will be complying with COVID-19 extended safety measures that may involve additional screening questions and other precautions to help ensure your safety and that of the broader community.
Totally Smiles are Well Prepared
As you are aware, the risk of infection is business as usual for the dental industry and Totally Smiles already undertakes stringent infection control protocols to the highest clinical standard. This has always been our way of life and we continue to operate as normal with enough supply of Personal Protective Equipment to continue to uphold our high clinical standards and meet patient demand. We will continue to be committed to maintaining our high clinical standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control measures.
If however, you have tested positive to COVID-19, have travelled overseas in the last 14 days, or have had close or casual contact with a person confirmed to have COVID-19 and have any symptoms like Fever, cough, throat soreness, shortness of breath please do not visit the practice.
We will continue to follow regular advice from the Australian Department of Health, The Australian Dental Association and Dental Board of Australia as we take appropriate steps in ensuring all dentists, staff and patients continue to be safe.
